"Writing for Video"

Speaker:     Verna Gates
    Verna spoke on how to write for video.   The subject included how to do research for a video presentation, how to pre-select scenes to use, how to concept, how to think visually, tips for writing simultaneously for voice and for the camera, and how to work with a director and producer and how to present the script to the client.
    Verna has a degree in television from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was one of the original 200 who started CNN.  Recently, she returned for a 20th anniversary party Ted Turner threw for the "Originals."  She was a writer/producer for CNN for four years. As a freelancer, she has written scripts for American Express, General Electric, Campbell Soup, Thomasville Furniture, NASCAR and others.
